Through dreaming with bees I have learned how to be one and many simultaneously. I have learned the power of community, interconnectivity, how to embody my own divinity. I have felt the pleasure they share with the flowers they pollinate, and my own pain of separation diminish.
I painted this piece while sitting between two living hives, the bees humming around me like a soft chorus. Their presence taught me about love and relationship. About the journey we must make to nourish and be nourished.
For me, this painting carries the scent of roses and honey and the feeling of a threshold moment in the turning of the seasons. It reflects the delicate balance between inner and outer worlds, a meditation on renewal, belonging, and the sweetness that emerges when we remember we are part of a larger living whole.
Amanda Lux is an artist and muralist based in Olympia, whose work explores the intersection of dreams, and the subtle intelligence of the natural world. She is the co-creator of The Healer’s Journey Dream Oracle Deck and Guidebook, based on original art inspired by dreams.
In addition to her art practice, Amanda is the creator of the Elevation Hive Center for Somatic Healing Arts, where she teaches in a nature-immersed environment that continually informs her visual language. Her paintings weave figurative symbolism, botanical forms, and layered imagery into contemplative inner landscapes.
In recent years she has also been developing a body of abstract paintings that explore color, gesture, and energetic movement as expressions of perception that exist beyond language.
Across all mediums, Amanda’s work emerges from the fertile space between dreaming and wakefulness, reflecting an ongoing curiosity about the relationships between psyche, nature, and the collective field of experience.
