Artist Statement:

My artwork is a celebration of the inherent beauty of the natural world and a reflection of my connection to the Pacific Northwest. Using fire, beeswax, tree resin and a variety of mixed media, I create pieces that express my visual and visceral experiences. Through my art, I invite viewers to pause, reflect, and rediscover the wonder of nature, reminding us of our place within its intricate tapestry.

My creative process begins outdoors— noticing and being curious. I document my outdoor experience by taking dozens of photos which I later use in the studio, as reference for patterns, light and color. I also collect intriguing organic material to embed directly into the wax or use for creating monoprints, cyanotype prints or nature prints. Layering all of these components together, into the wax, is a very intuitive process and one that illustrates the complex layers of our relationship with nature.
