Artist Statement:

I overfired enamel on this piece creating a blackened background, then ground the glass off the raised areas. Wire was hand formed, hammered, and balled with a torch then woven onto the enamel piece. The bail is die struck from sheet metal using a hydraulic press then hand sawed, soldered, filed, and polished.

I am inspired by the waters and marine life of the Salish Sea and the lush forests of the Pacific Northwest. The time I spend kayaking and backpacking help to fill my creative cup. The sights and emotions of being immersed in nature find their way into my pieces.
