I’ve spent much of my life feeling out of place, as if I were too emotional, too intense, or somehow missing the mark. I’ve always felt things deeply, and for as long as I can remember, art has been the one place where I could stop masking, stop ruminating, and fully express that intensity.
Painting has become a sacred part of my healing. It is where I alchemize grief, memories, and the parts of myself I once tried to hide. My work is often inspired by animal archetypes, which I experience as guardians. Through painting, I give shape to what cannot be spoken.
Painting is how I show the world my lightning.
Cattleya Sarabia is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans painting, textiles, poetry, and photography. From an early age, she found herself lost in the act of creating, especially sketching mythical creatures and animals.
Inspired by her own experiences, Cattleya's work is rooted in themes of transformation and resilience.
Working primarily in acrylic while occasionally exploring other mediums, Cattleya creates emotionally charged, symbolic works inspired by animal archetypes, florals, and the dream world. Her paintings explore the alchemy of transforming pain into beauty and deeper meaning, with the hope of inspiring others to reconnect with their intuition and inner world.
