Artist Statement:
What might these flowers say if they could speak, as the ones in wonderland do? Maybe the sweet peas would offer comfort and a softness, while the cosmos & asters might be a bit jollier and more vocal, and the refreshing nature of the agastache could possibly offer a voice of renewal and inspiration. Imagining their little faces and voices is a sweet pastime to consider, especially as someone who already tends to talk to the flowers and plants I encounter. :)
Growing a garden is one of my greatest joys and teachers. As many of us have experienced, the therapeutic qualities of growing plants, sowing seeds and getting our hands in the soil are endless. The floral compositions I create are an extension of this ever-evolving relationship to the plants I grow."

Carissa is a floral artist and gardener located in the Pacific Northwest. Celebrating the flowers and plants she grows in her garden, each design she creates is a culmination of months, sometimes years, of nurturing the elements that find their way to her works.
