In my grandmother's house, an upstairs bedroom looks out over the Seattle city skyline. I used to sleep next to that window with the curtains open so I could look at all of the buildings lit up. I'm excited to show these two pieces since they are the first felt (and denim) landscape pieces that I have ever done. Thank you for coming to the show!
While staring at my artboard one day trying to think of a project to do, I was reminded that earlier that day, it had rained, been sunny, was windy, snowed, and a rainbow even made an appearance, all within the span of six hours. It felt like all of the seasons had gone by over the course of one day. I typically make felt flowers, so I'm excited to show these two pieces since they are the first felt landscape pieces that I have ever done. Thank you for coming to the show!
Beatrix Ruder (13) has always loved making crafts on the floor of her room. Felt has become one of her most commonly used mediums, and she wanted to use it especially for this event. This art show is special because she typically only shows her pieces to close friends and family. It's very exciting to see her art framed, under glass, and well-lit!
*This piece is currently on display at the Futures Youth Art Show until April 30th. Pickup and shipping of purchased artwork will be arranged by the artist at the close of the show.
