Artist Statement:
Hope is an essential part of being human. It allows us to imagine a better future and reminds us that life is still unfolding. The trouble begins when the future becomes so compelling that it steals our experience of the now.
There are many ways to leave the present without ever taking a step. We do it whenever we're convinced that life will begin once we've reached whatever lies just beyond us. Hope keeps us moving forward. Gratitude keeps us connected to the present. The difficulty isn't choosing one over the other. It's learning not to lose one in pursuit of the other.

Artist: Danny Gordo
Danny Gordo is a contemporary figurative painter exploring the relationship between perception, symbolism, and the stories that shape human experience. Drawing from the symbolic tradition, his work unfolds gradually, rewarding sustained attention and leaving room for the viewer's own experience to complete the conversation.
Gordo's work has been exhibited at the San Francisco Art Fair, the Seattle Art Fair, and in solo and group exhibitions across the United States. He is a two-time recipient of the Robert B. McMillen Foundation MAC Award (2025, 2026), a finalist in the Allied Artists of America 112th Annual Exhibition, and has been featured in the Almenara Art Prize Online Exhibition.
Gordo holds a BFA in Illustration from Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design, graduating summa cum laude. He is the founder of The Copper Wolf Tattoo Studio and Art Gallery in Tumwater, Washington, where he maintains his studio practice while mentoring emerging artists.

About the Echoes collection
We live within an atmosphere of distraction so constant that it begins to feel natural. Attention is siphoned quietly, an inch at a time, until distraction seeps into what should be sacred and the sacred learns to perform instead of simply exist. We reach for the phantasm and call it the Form, mistaking the shadow for the thing casting it.
Echoes is a meditation on what happens when presence gives way to performance, and the most intimate parts of human experience begin to take their shape from forces outside us. The series inhabits the distance between what is genuine and what merely resembles it, asking how much of our inner lives remains our own when we are no longer fully present within them.
