Artist Statement:

An orchestra plays
softly over grey green water
Warmth filters through
chilled blades of grass
Pines shimmer
as mist reflects dawn
I feel a shiver
as the heat of a ray
meets my icy cheek
Some days
I must search for your light
And others
I feel enveloped by your gaze
Who am I
to receive
such a rare greeting
Do all feel so honored
at first light?

About the Artist:

Andrew has never really thought of himself as a photographer. His dad put a camera in his hands at fourteen, and the thing just sort of stuck around… tagging along on nearly every journey since. Usually not the reason for the trip, but more like the copilot riding shotgun, there to catch whatever the world throws his way.

He doesn’t head out to take pictures. He walks the path to be in the world… pursuing the experience first and letting the camera capture images that hold the story, or at least the energy/emotion of the moment.

Is it a hobby? Nah. Art? Maybe. For Andrew, this was never something he set out to do. It’s just part of who he is.
