Artist Statement:

I am an oil artist and singer-songwriter living above the harbor in Olympia, Washington, USA. As a musician, I have written, recorded, produced and released nine albums of original acoustic/folk music. I have been fortunate to have had many of my songs used in television, commercials and radio all around the world. As an oil painter, I meander somewhere along the paths of what I call contemporary folk art expressionism. Influenced by artists such as Vincent Van Gogh, Bob Dylan, Gabriele Munter and Christopher Dougherty, I strive to develop a distinctive style with ragged textures and muted tones with thematic concentrations on music, portraits, seascapes, cityscapes and landscapes. It is my intention to weave together expressionism and folk art into something new, but with an obvious appreciation of the past.
