My work as an artist is deeply rooted in a desire to foster a connection to nature. Through my paintings I hope to create an invitation to pause, breathe, and find a moment of peace in the chaos of everyday life. Inspired by my life in the Western United States and travels to special places, helps me to create experiences that grounds the viewer, helping them feel more connected to the earth and to each other.
I lean towards an expressionist style by using oils, ink, acrylics, oil crayons and other media in bold colors, with strong brushstrokes, and sharp differences to channel sensations. My goal is to create an emphasis on raw emotion, that is expressed through unique forms, intense colors, and exaggerated lines, offering a unique and often, meaningful encounter.
