Artist Statement:

My work is rooted in storytelling—often centered around the female figure, fashion, and character design—as a way to explore identity, emotion, and connection. I work across multiple mediums, including graphite, acrylic, oil paint, and digital illustration, choosing what best supports the mood or narrative of each piece. While my career has followed a winding path, art has remained a constant source of clarity and expression. Now, I’m intentionally creating space to deepen my practice and share work that feels honest and emotionally resonant. I aim to make art that invites introspection and connection—visual narratives that speak to the complexities of being human. Whether through a quiet sketch or a detailed painting, my process is about reconnecting with my creative voice and offering something sincere. This chapter marks a shift toward full engagement with my artistic purpose—and an openness to wherever that path may lead.

About the Artist:

Caitlin Lanza is a multidisciplinary artist based in Washington State. With a BFA from The Evergreen State College, her work explores themes of identity, emotion, and human connection, often through storytelling centered on the female figure, fashion, and character design. She has been creating art since 2005, working across a range of traditional and digital media including graphite, acrylic, oil paint, and digital illustration. While balancing a full-time career outside the arts, Caitlin has continued to pursue freelance projects and personal work. Now in her mid-thirties, she is entering a new chapter focused on reconnecting with her creative voice and sharing her artistic vision more fully. Her practice reflects a deep curiosity about the inner world, using expressive forms and layered imagery to evoke mood and narrative. Through each piece, Caitlin invites viewers into a space of introspection, empathy, and connection.
