Artist Statement:

Each of my pieces begins with a place—a specific location experienced on a specific day. I forage natural elements from that landscape, aiming to create a visual representation of that moment in time. My process is grounded in natural rhythm: I wait until nightfall to begin scanning, tying my creative flow to the movement of the sun and the turning of the seasons. Scanning in the dark creates vivid color and a consistent black background, while allowing me to linger in the energy of the day just passed.

My method is both intentional and playful. I build each piece face-down on the scanner glass, never fully sure how it will appear. After each scan, I view it on the computer, make adjustments, and scan again—continuing this process, often late into the night—until the final composition comes together in a single high resolution scan.

Once complete, I dry the gathered materials. Some are saved and sealed into nature bottles—small time capsules that carry the essence of the day. The rest is returned to the earth, completing the cycle.

Over time, I revisit locations in different seasons, tracing the subtle shifts in the land. My hope is that these pieces help others slow down, pay attention, and feel more deeply connected to place.

I also offer custom commission pieces created from your own land—a meaningful way to commemorate a home. I create wedding commissions as well, foraged from the place you are married and often incorporating flowers used in the ceremony. This part of my practice is especially close to my heart.
