Artist Statement:

A Northwest native, I have been painting for over 35 years. I grew up in Washington State and spent many hours as a child playing in the woods and watching my mother paint. I come from a family of artists and have always been interested in the use of color, the richness & versatility of oil paint, and exploring Art as play. In play we release our imaginations, make intuitive decisions and experience freedom. My current work reflects the solace I find in nature, the exploration of myth & symbolism, as well as our connection to the natural world. My art has been exhibited and collected locally and nationally and I earned an MFA in Fine Art, Painting in 1989.
