About the artist:
Linda Torres is a queer, Latin artist from Chicago. They have been a practicing artist in Olympia, WA since 2013. Before coming to Olympia they taught and exhibited in Chicago, IL and Urbana, IL since 2007. Having taught art in a charter high school, private adult classes, after school programs and university level courses, Linda enjoys making the Arts attainable for all who are interested and want to learn. Linda Torres holds a Masters of Art in Interdisciplinary Arts from Columbia College Chicago. They have worked professionally in technical theater as a scenic artist, painting for nationally acclaimed theaters, has done freelance for an artisan faux painting company, and has taken on roles such as Manager and Assistant Curator for an art gallery in Urbana, IL. Linda has exhibited with collaborative installations, art festivals and galleries in Chicago, IL, Urbana, IL, and Olympia, WA. In 2018, they were published for their work done for the publication, Wisdom of the Tall Ones, by Chicago author, Laila Lee. Linda Torres recently exhibited her work at the reveal event for this publication in Chicago, IL in September of 2018. Currently, Linda works at Sorry Mom Ink in Olympia as a tattoo artist having studied and apprenticed under the owner Gina Craig.
